Thank you for watching again. Today I'm on the banks of the Kurome River again.
ローマ書1章16節の聖書の言葉から少しお話ししたいと思います。
「福音は、ユダヤ人をはじめギリシア人にも、信じるすべての人に救いをもたらす神の力です。」
「福音は、神の力です」とあります。
I would like to speak a little from the Book of Romans 1:16.
The Scripture says, "The gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes : first to the Jews then to the Greek."
"The gospel is the power of God."
わたしは、約14年間、日本で教会の牧師をしていました。ですので、人々に礼拝であるいは個人的に福音を伝えてきました。
I used to be a church minister in Japan for about 14 years. So I have preached the gospel to people in worship and personally.
イエス様についていろんなお話しをし、説明をしてきました。しかし、わたしの説明がその人のこころに感動を起こして、その人がイエス様を
受け入れたわけではありません。
I have talked about Jesus and explained who He is. Some people have accepted Jesus as their Savior, but this is not because my explanation impressed the person's heart.
わたしの説明ではなくて、イエス様ご自身をわたしはご紹介するだけであって、神様ご自身が、聖霊ご自身がその人の心のなかに働いて救いをもたらしてくださる、神様ご自身がその人の内側に働いてくださるということを経験してきました。
I have introduced Jesus Himself to the people, and I have seen that God and the Holy Spirit works inside them and brings salvation to them.
ですから、いろんな文化、世界中にいろんな文化があり、日本には日本の文化がありますけれども、その文化を超えて神様の力は働くということです。ギリシア人に働いたように、神様の力はシントイズムの影響を受けているわたしにも働いてくださいました。
There are various cultures all over the world, and Japan has Japanese culture, but God's power works beyond the culture.
God's power also worked in me, who was influenced by shintoism, such as His power did for the Greek.
そして、十字架の意味、罪とは何か、まさしくわたしの罪のために十字架でイエス様は死んでくださったということがはっきり分かる瞬間が来ました。
There was the moment when my eyes were opened to the truth that Jesus died on the cross for my sin.
それが、神様の力、ご聖霊の力です。
That is the power of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
前回、わたしは仕事で本当に憂鬱になって、希望をなくして、そしてそれがきっかけで、はじめて教会に行ったことについてお話ししました。
Last time, I talked about my first time going to church because I was really depressed at work and lost hope.
そして、そこではじめて祈って、自分の重荷を神様のもとに持っていきました。
Then, I prayed for the first time there and brought my burden to God.
その後、教会に続けて行って、十字架の話を何度も何度も聴きました。自分でもできる限り続けて聖書を読みました。
After that, I went to church and listened to the story of the cross over and over again.
I continued reading the Bible as much as I could.
ある時、神様の力なんですね。はっきりと自分の罪が分かった瞬間がありました。イエス様の十字架の意味が分かりました。
At one point, by the power of God. There was a moment when I knew my sin clearly and I understood the meaning of Jesus on the cross.
わたしの重荷を負ってくださる、傷を癒してくださる、でもその前に、十字架っていうのは、わたしのこのドロドロした罪、神様とわたしを隔てているわたしの罪を清算してくださるためであったということ、そして、天のお父様は御子イエス様をこの世に寄こしてくださったということがはじめて分かりました。
Jesus took my burden and healed my wounds, but more than that, the cross was for my terrible sin.
Finally, I found that the cross is for my sin that separates me from God. Also that the Heavenly Father sent His Son, Jesus, to the world.
それから聖書の書いてあることがストーンと理解できるようになりました。
神は、唯一であって、天と地を造られた唯一の神がおられて、わたしたちを愛するがあまりに御子イエス様を寄こしてくださった。
And then I came to understand very clearly what the Bible says.
God is the only one God who created the heavens and the earth, and He loves us so much that He sent his Son, Jesus, to us.
もうすべてが何か謎が解けたように思いました。
I felt as if the answers that I didn't get through my life had been solved.
自分の罪が赦されたことが分かりました。
I found that my sins were forgiven.
まあそれから、嬉しくて嬉しくて仕方なくてですね、罪が赦された～、救われた～、天の父なる神様がおられることが分かった～、
あまり嬉しくて、まずは家族、父、母、兄弟、そして自分の友だちに、もうとにかくイエス様のことをお話ししました。
Because I was so happy, I shared my experience with my parents, brothers and friends, with talking repeatedly about being forgiven and saved, and
about the existence of God the Father in heaven and Jesus Christ.
でも自分がそうであったように、みんなもこころを開いてくれたわけではありません。「何を言っているんだ、このニシモトは」というふうな感じでした。
But at first they didn’t open their hearts to the gospel message, just like I hadn’t opened my heart to the gospel for some time. And they said, "What are you talking about, Nishimoto?"
わたしは、家内の何度も何度も繰り返し伝えてくれたその伝道のおかげで救われました。
I was saved thanks to the evangelism that my wife told me over and over again.
同じように、日本人も福音に触れるチャンスさえあれば、すなわち、誰かがイエス様のことを紹介する、説明をするというよりは紹介をすること、そして教会にお誘いすることを繰り返ししていくということが一番必要なことだと思います。
In the same way, it is indispensable for Japanese people to have a chance to come into contact with the gospel.
And I think it is most important that someone keeps on introducing Jesus and inviting people to church and not giving up.
ただ実際には、日本人が教会に足を運ぶ、イエス様の話を聴くということが、そんなに簡単なことではないという現実は確かにあります。
However, in reality, it is certainly not so easy for Japanese people to come to church and listen to Jesus.
その難しさがあるからこそ、言葉のこと、文化のことを勉強しておられる宣教師の皆さんと一緒に協力して、
Because of that difficulty, I want to work with missionaries who are studying language and culture, and experiencing the same difficulty in Japan.
父なる神様のご計画、それを成就したイエス様、そして今わたしたちのこころの内に働いてくださる聖霊様のことを日本の人々に伝えることができれば、本当に幸いです。
I am really happy that I can tell the Japanese people about God the Father who planned our salvation, and Jesus Christ who fulfilled the plan, and the Holy Spirit who is working in our hearts now.
